WHERE IS THE NAME "HOUSE OF DEREON" FROM?
The House of Dereon name pays tribute to Ms Tina Knowles mother, Beyoncé's grandmother, Agnèz Deréon who has inspired the three generations of women in the family . In 2004, The House of Dereon Clothing Line was created by Mrs. Tina and Beyoncé (www.dereon.com). Then in 2006, the House of Dereon Media Center was created.
WHERE IS THE HOUSE OF DEREON MEDIA CENTER LOCATED?
The House of Dereon Media Center is located in the Midtown Historic District on the south end of Houston's downtown business district. Our street address is 2204 Crawford (Between Hadley and Webster). The House of Dereon is 4 Blocks from St Joseph’s Hospital, 8 blocks from the Toyota Center, minutes from the George R Brown Convention Center and 15 minutes from the Galleria Area. HOW MANY GUESTS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED?
The House of Dereon Media Center has hosted intimate parties of 100 or festive events of 1500. There is a courtyard that is available, as well an additional space on the property for Tents to add additional space. (See Photos)
CAN I PROVIDE MY OWN LIQUOR?
The HOD Media Center is a non-licensed venue, however, there is an official TABC licensed Beverage vendor. If it is your desire to sell alcohol at your event, you must get approval from building management and you will have to utilize the official TABC licensed Beverage vendor. (If an outside liquor caterer is used, a $300 catering buyout fee is assessed). All vendors must be approved by building management.
CAN I USE MY OWN FOOD CATERER?
HOD Media center has an open food catering policy.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING?
Cars are permitted to park around the perimeter of HOD Media Center at their own risk. There is an additional parking lot available for lease which is adjacent to the facility located on the North West corner of Crawford and Webster.
MAY I USE MY OWN FLORIST OR DECORATOR?
OD Media center has an open florist and decorator policy.
DOES THE FACILITY PERMIT SMOKING?
To preserve the building décor, there is a strict no smoking policy inside the House of Dereon Media Center. The use of cigarettes, cigars and pipes are strictly prohibited. Patrons are permitted to smoke ONLY on the Dereon Courtyard.
